Quick Start

Create a project and build your first canvas workflow

Quick Start

Infinite Canvas keeps prompts, reference media, generation settings, and results together in one visual workspace.

1. Open or create a project

Start from the Infinite Canvas landing page, then choose My canvases to open the project dashboard. The dashboard lets you:

  • Create a blank project.
  • Open, rename, export, or delete an existing project.
  • Import a previously exported canvas ZIP.
  • Select several projects for bulk export or deletion.

Creating a project waits for the server to return its project ID before opening the editor. Each editor URL identifies one project, so you can bookmark it and return later.

2. Add your first nodes

Use the toolbar at the bottom of the editor to add Text, Image, Video, Generation configuration, or Group nodes. You can also:

  • Double-click empty canvas space to open the node creation menu.
  • Upload or drag image, video, and audio files onto the canvas.
  • Insert reusable items from Assets in the left panel.
  • Copy a prompt from the Prompt Library in the left panel.

Start with a Text node for your idea and an Image or Video node for any reference media.

3. Connect a workflow

Drag from a node connection handle to another node to create a relationship. If you release the connection on empty canvas space, choose a new connected node from the menu.

Connected upstream text and media can become inputs for a generation. Open a node prompt panel and type @ to choose connected references without memorizing resource numbers.

See the Canvas Node Guide for the role of each node.

4. Generate results

Select a Text, Image, Video, Audio, or Generation configuration node and open its generation panel. Choose an available model, enter a prompt, adjust the supported settings, and select Generate.

  • Text results can stream into a Text node.
  • Image and video generation runs as background tasks and writes durable results back to the canvas.
  • Multi-image results stay together in one Image node. Expand the batch to compare outputs, choose the primary image, retry or delete a failed output, create a copy, or download one image.
  • Once a paid generation task is accepted, closing the view does not cancel it. Reopening the project in the same browser restores task observation.

5. Save and return later

Canvas changes are saved automatically. The top bar shows whether the project is saving, saved, or waiting to retry after a failure. If the latest changes cannot be saved, the editor warns before leaving.

Use the top menu to return to Canvas projects, open these docs, import media, or export the current project as a ZIP. The dashboard is the place to manage projects; the project editor is the place to edit one canvas.

For faster editing, continue with Canvas Controls and Shortcuts.
